I got back to my room around 5 this afternoon, and laid down to watch a cricket match on TV and dozed off. I woke up now 2.5 hours later, thought I'd only crash out for 20 minutes. My hotel is fantastic, they own other business including two FANTASTIC cafes here in the same building. I met a wonderful Tibetan merchant today, the first guy I met when I ventured out. He had me in his shop for te... Read Full Entry

The Yamuna divides New Delhi from here westward whilst everything east of the Yamuna here is all shantytown where all the migrants come from the rural areas in hopes of prosperity in Delhi.

Steps up the pedestrian bridge seem as good as place as any to set up tented home, which are everywhere one can prop one up. An example of the extremity of lack of many.

Gotta take in a Cricket match. It was India vs. some African squad it seemed. One batter broke a batting record, like making an RBI record in baseball. It was a big deal.
CafeCafe
Cafe

One of the two cafes in my building. This place was dynamite! I came here for the free wi-fi. My one and only negative was they loud mainstream hip-hop. The music production was slick and current, but the lyrical content was disturbing - all about drinking, drugging and risky promiscuous sex. I was embarrassed as a monk to be subjected to that, and for my brothers and sisters-in-robes present and who also frequent the establishments. No monk, nun, or Tibetan Buddhist should be subjected to that garbage. I'm sure they were just enjoying the music and didn't get the message of the content.
