As you may have noticed, Kyle did not arrive in India when dad and I arrived. He landed a little later so that he could work a few more days. When he arrived in Delhi, he spent two days in the city meeting with a tailor. He hasn't admitted it, but I am pretty sure he was in heaven.

If you know Kyle well, you know he is a bit of a dandy. Unfortunately, his tastes exceed his means. But Kyle does not easily take "no" for an answer. A work-around he has developed is to have suits made in foreign countries where the cost of hand tailoring is within reach. A custom made suit is now a common part of our overseas trips. You may even remember our earlier entry "Dapper in Damascus!"

Kyle had several fittings before joining us in Pushkar and then had two more fittings in the final leg of the trip.

After hours of deliberating, countless bolts of fabric and pain-staking decision-making, Kyle settled on 3 suits, 5 shirts and a sports jacket. He "educated" us on fabrics like "Dormeuil" and "Holland & Sherry", and features such as surgeon's cuffs and floating canvas. We humored him and feigned interest.

I know what everyone is wondering: "so how much does a custom-made suit cost in India?" I wondered the same thing and then decided it best not to ask. Your guess is as good as mine!
