A view from the scooter trip. What am amazing sight it must have been for the first Portugese sailors when they landed on this coast.

Inside the ancient Portugese fort we were allowed to wander aimlessly among the ruins. Here and there were the remains of walls, ramparts, towers, and cannons.

Towards the end of our scooter adventure (and after Paul went scarily close to falling off at high speed when he misjudged a corner) we went for a swim at Agonda beach. Compared to Palolem the waves were huge, the beach secluded and the atmosphere serene.

While at Agonda we joined in a beach cricket game with some local Indian boys. All across India you see cricket being played in parks, on roads, in the small gaps between buildings, in fields, on beaches, and pretty much anywhere else where it is possible. The entire country is obsessed with the sport.
