Mirror image of locals heading through the backwaters
Heading through the backwaters during Monsoon season is quite an experience. Monster rainstorms coupled with Super blue clouds, followed by a rainbow like no other and then searing sunshine. And that is just 10 minutes!!!

Cochin the city which was the gateway to the backwaters was a beautiful charming old port. Influenced by Portugese, Arab, & African traders the town has many unique features. Jewtown and the massive fishing nets that dropped into the water were the highlight. On the peninsula where the fishing nets were, you could buy the seafood straight out of the nets. In little tents next to the makeshift seafood market were many a willing chef ready to cook the prawns and serve with a little lemon. Delicious!!!
