Early flight Mumbai to Kochi

Indigo Airways got us to Kochi by 11am

Another early start as we rose at 7am (or 2am in UK) for breakfast. Once again the hotel staff were remarkably attentive, to the extent we felt like we were the only ones in the hotel (this was actually probably true).

Breakfast was a pretty disappointing affair which no one really touched before we headed off to the local airport for our 1 1/2 hour flight to Kochi with Indigo airways. We got to the Domestic airport and stood inline to be checked through before joining a gigantic queue to check in. It actually only took about 45 minutes in the end and then we went through to the gate.

Everyone was a bit grouchy at this stage following 2 early mornings, a decent bout of jet lag and very little to eat. As we waited in the gate area, the tiredness got the better of Lucas who had a bit of a tantrum but after we got some croissants things settled down. Unfortunately, he will be without his phone for a week! Heading onto the flight Lucas realised he had forgotten his E-Reader which then had to be searched for by security, who, remarkably, found it and we

were off on our next flight.

We were greeted at the airport by our guide for our adventure - Anoop. A very nice chap who was waving a sign and gave us some gifts on arrival - Olivia some tea, the kids some caps and all of us T-Shirts.

It was an 1 1/2 hour trip to our hotel in the A-team van and they gave us snacks and drinks so it felt pretty short and Anoop told us about himself.

On arrival at the Hotel Casino we got our, very colonial rooms, and then headed straight to the swimming pool, which was gorgeously warm....even Olivia had a dip. So, we whiled away the afternoon in the pool and reading books. Late afternoon we went to the 'Vasco De Gama Bar' and had some snacks before heading to the amazing Hotel Sea Food Bar. Here, everyone was pretty adventurous with their order - particularly Phoebe - and we had a selection of delicious sea food; including lobster, mackerel, squid and prawns. Delicious food and we went to bed both tired and full. Our first real day in India and so excited to be here.
