We're back in Bangalore for one day before we catch the plane. Em, Andy & Amy are spending the day playing with the kids at Ashraya. We managed the train trip well without an escort, it was crazy at times and unnerving but a real adventure. Everyone jumps onto the train with their luggage at the same time as the people on board are disembarking with theirs everyone crashes at the tiny doorways and tries to squeeze past. We had so many warnings from people to watch our luggage that I followed the porter first while the rest of the group stayed with the luggage still to go on. I got stuck in the doorway but was pulled on and found our seats. We were on a train that did proabably a dozen stops so it seemed to take forever, but everyone was friendly and helpful and although we were dreading the disembarking crush there was no one boarding at our destination. We got ourselves and our luggage off without needing a porter and were going to just walk ourselves out without paying one. A porter followed along beside us pointing the way to the taxis until we cam to a giant set of stairs that took us up and over all the tracks and down the other side. We gave up and paid the porters and we were glad to follow them and know that the crush of the crowd was taking all of us in the right direction. There were no signs. We managed to cram everyone in the taxi, find the address to the new hotel and arrive where our friends waited. We're taking it easy today sharing stories of some of the young adults who've met up with birth families and walking around the city. Home soon! Jenny
