Kingfisher Time!
Bottoms up before the sun goes down in Goa Sarah and I won our race against time and made the 10 hour bus ride from Hampi / Hospet to Goa. We arrived at Baga Beach around 8am on Friday November 19th and checked into the beautiful Casa Baga (Thanks again Charmaine!). Goa is an amazing state - an old Portuguese colony, which oozes with beautiful beaches and European influences. North Goa favours party goers, which suited us down to the ground. It felt great to slip into shorts and flip-flops for a beach and beer weekend. We hit up some beach shacks on Friday and cruised around Baga Beach.
Saturday started off perfectly with massages before lunch. I.f rented a scooter to buzz around for a bit, while the girls hit the shops. We all met for lunch and got tucked into some Goan specialities including King fish, Pom Freit, curried prawns, and beer of course. The evening evolved as we went for sunset drinks at Cafe Del Mar before popping open a bottle of bubbly for Bref's Birthday. Milking the Birthday for everything it was worth, I mandated a trip to Bar Eclipse to watch Man Utd v Wigan at 8.30p. Nemanja Vidic & Patrice Evra scored in

Beautiful sunsets were part and parcel of Goa honour of my anniversary and a great night began in style! We continued on to Tito's, Mambos, Cape Town Cafe, and random beach shacks. Highlights included free Bday shots, Bref's Bday announcement at the club from the DJ, blagging our way into clubs at a discount, and taking a late night / early morning dip in the Arabian Sea!
We met our good friend Bloody Mary on Sunday morning poolside. That evening we went a few miles north to Anjuna. Some food and a few Rum and Cokes later and we were on our way to a full moon party. The night was another memorable one and I was delighted to ring in a new decade with my wonderful wife, our dear friend Charmaine and a load of new friends that we made! We partied from Anjuna back to Baga Beach and washed down Birthday cake with Champagne. The locals must have liked us....they made me the Mayor of Baga Beach!
