Drive to the ruins
Beautiful setting for the ruins... and no tourist buses (yet) to obstruct the views
The drive should have been closer to 400 Km, but our GPS has "antiquated" maps from 2003, and is unaware of some of the newer highways! As luck would have it, the skies opened up when we were just 20 Km from our hotel in Hyderabad, unleashing a thunderstorm that forced us to take cover on the side of the highway and extended our day by at least an hour. We arrived at the Novotel Airport Hotel, tired, wet and very very glad to have made our target.

We are management consultants from San Francisco. We travel a whole lot for work, but that is nowhere near as much fun as traveling together to countries we have always wanted to visit.
We embarked on a 3 month trip around the Asia Pacific in 2012, and used this blog to post pictures and (some) comments for friends and family that want to follow our travels, including our 2-3 week trip around India in an auto-rickshaw!
Nearly a year from our 3 month trip, we have again hit the road for a "de-toxing" trip into the mountains and valleys of Patagonia in Argentina and Chile...... full info
