Between Chinese New Year and Easter, I had a visit from my Mum, from the UK. I took the opportunity to be a tourist again, and get the camera out. It's nice to see things with fresh eyes again, and you appreciate things that you realise you might have forgotten were foreign or interesting or different.
Luckily I was on holiday from work at the same time, so I spent lots of time hanging out with my Mum, creating new memories and enjoying each others company again. The weather was on our side, the winter seemed to have skipped up this year, having only been cold for a few weeks. Mum and I took trips to Lamma Island, Ocean Park, Cheung Chau Island and more. We spent a few evenings playing games at my brother's house, and celebrating his 30th birthday as well. We all had a good night out at Happy Valley races, Mum winning the first bet she had ever placed in her life!
Mum also came to visit me when I went back to work, to see a Hong Kong Kindergarten. It was interesting to see the comparisons she made and the differences she noticed between

Popular snack in HK the Hong Kong system and the UK system. I got the kids to ask her questions and they all thought it was funny that their teacher had a Mum. They named her "Miss Mummy!" They still ask me now, "Where is Miss Mummy?"
One of the highlights was the trip to Macau. We walked around the streets and the old fort, but the best part was the House of Dancing Waters show at the City of Dreams. It was a spectacular show in a round theatre, where the stage was a giant pool of water, and sometimes hard floor. There were divers, acrobatics, drama, all breathtaking, and telling a story as they went. With no language, it is enjoyable for everyone. We were all blown away by the show. That was Mum's last night in Hong Kong and a great way to end her trip.
Back to work and back to busy, here in Hong Kong I am still teaching Kindergarten Monday to Friday, but also teach gym classes every Sunday, and usually on a Monday and Friday as well. It certainly keeps me busy but it is great fun and a good challenge! Every three months we
have new music and new choreography to learn, so that kept me busy during March leading up to the launch day of these new releases.
Another highlight was the Hong Kong rugby Sevens. Every year this is a huge event held at Hong Kong stadium. The teams play on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. The party goes on in the South stand where you would feel out of place if you were not in fancy dress with a beer in your hand. The stadium is full of excitement for the weekend, as it is a fast moving game. I had a great weekend watching all the teams play, with Fiji taking home the wining trophy at the end.
After a busy month, it was almost time for another holiday! Easter in Sydney.....
