hong kong...a must see!!

we arrived at HK late afternoon n headed for our accomadation on Ngong Ping. took a cable cart up a mountain to our hostel right next to the giant buddah (and i mean giant, this thing is massive, dont even know how they got it up there as its on top of a mountain!). after looking round the buddah and eating in a monestry, headed to hong kong island! found another hostel...again on top of a mountain, this time no luxery of a cable cart, climbed this bad boy by foot, in the rain (about an hour trek up approx 1000 steps)! went out for food on the largest floating resturant in the world, munched on some peigeon! went out n had a few sherberts in soho! looked around avenue of stars and witnessed many people practising the art of thai chi, which was quiete relaxing just watching! spent an afternoon swimming in a local park on kowloom, was pretty kool as the pools were outside and absolutely wicked as they have just been built for the forth coming olympics!spent a few days jus chipping around taking in the culture and seeing various bits n peices, such as the largest escalator in the world, pretty rare! went to the jade market, im not one for ornaments but some of this stuff was absolutely beautiful! walking around the shops during the day isnt for the faint hearted, most parts of most animals are readily availabe! evenings are pretty kool in HK, the skyline really is somthing else! at 8 o clock the buildings light up, each one flashes and puts on a show, looks immense when there all flashing and going for it! hong kong was absolutely amazing, we were only there 6 days, but those 6 were absolutely wicked! what a wicked place to start our travells!!!
