hi all
well, i keep writing, and i hear nothing from you. was
there a nuclear bomb that erased the state of israel
and i am the only israeli survivor in the world???
we had enough of lijiang, it's too touristic and too
crowded. we are leaving it very soon.
yesterday i went to a very famous park here, and the
first picture is probably one of the most famous
pictures from china (only the mountain should be
clearer...).
in the park there are some temples, and the chinese
have a cute tradition called "love locks" - write your
name and your lover's name on a lock, lock it in a
holly place, and your love will be locked forever...
see the picture.
we also found the "two chinese with the big violin"
from our kid's song. after the police officer threw
them away, they went to play in the park. you can see
the picture of the chinese band there...
also some old guys playing their chinese chess (forgot
the name at the moment, will get back to you on that).
and of course - it couldn't be china without the big
statues of mao, so i just wanted to give you the
atmosphere.
we found a local guide that will take us hiking in the
mountains. he said the trek we wanted is not 100% safe
this time of year, and suggested other treks. we chose
a 5-day trek that ends up in a beautiful
nature-reserve. found 4 more guys (2 israelis, 1
german, 1 russian) that will join us. we will take off
in 2 days from zhongdian (the town called "shangri
la").
in a couple of hours hefetz and myself are leaving
lijiang and going to zhongdian.
be in touch,
and DASH from china,
R.
