Is this china?

hi everybody,
for those of you who don't know - i am in china (for
those of you who do know - i just like the sound of it
so i say it a lot).
after a very hectic and stressful week, i got on the
plane monday night. it's nice to have friends in el-al
crew - saw both takeoff and landing from the pilot's
cockpit! the flight itself was almost empty, so i had
an entire row to sleep between takeoff and landing -
not a bad start!
bangkok was hot and humid - very hot and very humid.
since i only had a few hours there i walked around a
little bit, and not more.
the flight to china was strange - being the only white
man on a chinese plane (and this is not just a joke).
it felt as if they are giving the safety instructions
in english only for me...
in china i met micky (hefetz) - we were actually on
the same flight to dali... funny.
dali itself is a tourist place - but still nobody
speaks english...
after settling in yesterday we walked around the place
today, and then hired bikes and went to the
surrounding villages. to make a long story short -
hefetz decides we should have a MADAS instead of a
trip, and we went for about 15KM just to miss the boat
back to dali, and we had to pay someone to take us
when it was already dark and the lake had waves...
tmrw we are hiking up the mountains here...
