We both agreed (a rare thing I know) that to travel in China is a mission, one with chances of significant higher success if there is either a) the ability of speaking some of the language or b) paying for an interpreter. They grow their hair until the age of 18 and then cut it off...

They then continue to grow their hair for the rest of their lives never cutting it again....

They keep the hair cut off at 18 to add to their existing hair to make their tied hair look fuller...

The finished product. They wash their hair every 3 days and never use any soap products on it only herbal wash.
