The toilets in the first guesthouse had no doors. This was the view!

In this blog, Hagit describes here first trek ever....

After 4 days of rain we were pretty depressed and were thinking of cutting out of Yunnan to someplace sunny - we even thought of going to the Thailand beaches and staying there of 4 months.

on the fifth day it stopped raining and started snowing! we were very upset and didn't know what to do. we did what always works for Israelis - we decided the weather will improve unilaterally! we decided to take the bus to the trek and than decide. when we entered the village, the sky became clear and it became a beautiful day. we walked from 3:00 to 7:30 up the hills (900m). it was so difficult but the walking sticks Rona and Meir bought us helped so much. the vies where amazing . in front of us we so snowy mountains top, down the hill we sow the Yangtze river and with us, travelled many white butterflies... beautiful. Yaron helped me not to give up and i was braver than we both thought. it was a great walk. very hard but so worth it. we reached after 2h the first guesthouse where they

Leaving Zhongdian for the trek after it snowed at night.
served us hot tea. from there we climbed another 2 h in a steep way. i didn't allow to talk on the way up - because of the difficulties in breathing and Yaron didn't allow to talk on the way down because he wanted us to be focused on not falling to the river - daddy Yossi- you thought you are protective over me- well Yaron told me to watch my step. every step !!! after 2 more hours we reached the nice guesthouse in which we took a hot shower, ate dinner and slept. we met there 3 guys - British, Australian and a New-Zealander girl. it was nice hanging out with them. the day after we continued the walking and slept the night at a nice guesthouse as well. that was the end of the first trek in my life.
i forgot to mention that i thought that our bags weighted the same. when i tried to help Yaron with his, i almost couldn't move my feet!!! apparently- he took everything from my bag in order to make it easy to me. i still can not understand how he climbed and walked the entire trek(50km) with that heavy
