"Tashi Delek!" Our local guide, Jam, greeted us as he placed a traditional Tibetan white scarf (khata) on our necks. After 53 hours of train travel, we were finally in Lhasa. Even at night, the city looked crisp and modern. Roads and buildings were neatly planned and structured.
