Our Brew Trip at 9:00 am!
If there’s but one thing I’ve learned in China, it’s to stay flexible, and that is not just because I'm studying with a Tai Chi master. When folks put on your plate things you wouldn’t in a million years eat, just smile and eat. And, when plans change for the 3rd-5th time, just run with it. So, instead of going to another city and doing testing for discus (whatever this means), we toured around the city and headed home (Jinan—quite all right with me). It was freezing (literally 0 deg. C) and windy and cold, and you’d have thought I’d never lived in a place like WY.

After breakfast we did what any good graduate student (and professor not too far removed from her graduate school days) would do—headed to the brewery! Tsingtao beer is a world-famous beer brewed in Qingdao (Tsingtao and Qingdoa actually sound the same—who knew!). We did the tour, both English and Chinese throughout! I thought I’d heard or seen Tsingtao before in the US, and it turns out they have a partnership with Anheuser Busch. It was quite a bit of fun! The brewery looks just about how Anheuser’s looks, but with green bottles instead of brown.

After the tour, we headed to lunch, and then to the Polar Ocean—Sea World for Polar animals and dolphins. They had a neat show with the belugas, dolphins, and seals, which was pretty neat, and we were in the front row (behind a barrier to not get splashed!). Really, I was just happy to be out of the wind and cold! I have two luggage pieces, and all my stuff for the cold was, of course, not with me! I was freezing; I couldn’t understand anyone; the driver had a smokestack coming out his mouth (he wouldn’t stop smoking!), so needless to say, I couldn’t wait to get on the train fast enough. And, it was a high speed train, speeding at a whopping 240 km/hr (~150 mph)! I just wanted to get to my hotel, grab a warm bed and crash! So, that’s what I’ll be doing here shortly, good night!

I know I shouldn't criticize, but I just wonder, who is editing the signs? Or are they looking for a lawsuit?
