Day 5 - A relaxing day, and a 'hot cupping' experience
I have felt like I have been rushing and on the go since leaving work on Friday, so last night and today I have allowed myself some quiet time! I started by having an easy early night.... Hhhmmmmmm.... Enjoyed that long sleep too. I started watching The Hobbit on my iPad, but didn't actually get to see very much of it! All the young ones were partying in the bar, here at Monkey Jaynes. Get on it....whilst you physically and mentally can! That's what I think!
So I started off this morning with a lush breakfast. Scrambled egg with toast, cucumber and tomato..... Fruit with yoghurt, mango juice, and then caPer it off with a cup of fresh green tea! I sat there for, what seemed, ages. Two Chinese girls came up to ask if they could have their photo taken with me, of course, I obliged, the poor girl was trembling with nerves from asking me!!!! Am I that scary? We chatted and laughed, they loved trying out their English on me. They then returned the compliment when I asked for photos with them! The people are
really friendly, and make us all feel very welcome.
I had a little shopping spree. I went looking for yoga pants for me & Ella. I did get some, but I aren't completely convinced that they are the sort that Ella is thinking of. I bought her purple, they can't possibly be wrong if they are purple. I got Donnas Christmas tree decoration too.
I could only do this shopping as I have had a bag sort out! I have off loaded lots of things, including the jeans I came in, my walking boots and many other items! It just had to be done! I did consider going really radical and sending stuff back home, sleeping bag, mozzie net etc, but had second thoughts on it because when I was in Vietnam it started out in nice places like this, but the need for them came later: I am anticipating that it may be the same here, they are just lulling me into a false sense of security! LOL so I have kept one of everything! This will be fine for Chins, but I may struggle in Dubai!
The shopping was followed by a leisurely stroll along
Li River.
OMG.......Just got back from hot cupping. It was the weirdest feeling. I went first, as I'd rather not know what was going to happen. We striped off the top half and laid front down on a bed, then she just attached the wooden cups. I had no idea what they were like, but the other girls comments made me wary! It felt like all my skin was being gathered up, and pulled together. It wasn't painful, just really weird. It got so hot! We laid with the cups on for about 10 minutes, then she came to remove them. That was just as strange as putting them on! It is now about 30 minutes since it was done, the circles are even hotter now, and more purple!
We have just been for final bits of food for the 25 hour train journey tomorrow! Not sure when I will get back on, but I will keep writing, and upload when I can. x

Lesley's adventures
I am absolutely in awe already by your travelling adventures though the "hot cupping" looks extremely uncomfortable, I presume this does wear off in time. I love the pictures, the scenery must be quite breath taking at times. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure.
