Soft sleeper bed
on the train from Xian to Guilin. I managed to stay calm for 28hours on this with just chinese speaking people. Very friendly people. Rivers, karsts, bamboo-rafts, rock climbing, cycling,......
English below In Yangshou kann man ganz leicht 2 Wochen verbringen und man wuerde nicht einmal bemerken, dass die Zeit so schnell vergeht. Guilin ist fast nicht sehenswert wenn man Yangshou zuerst sieht.
Yangshou ist sehr touristisch, jedoch ist dies auf eine Art praktisch und man kann dort gute Schaeppchen machen.
Wir sind mit den Fahrraedern zur Dragon Brücke, einige sprangen sogar in den Li Fluss. Wir sind von Yangdi zu Xingping gewandert. Wir waren auf einem der Karsts klettern. Wir sind auch den Fluss herunter gedriftet, und das mit einem Kater. Wir haben es sogar geschafft uns das Kormoran Fischen anzusehen. Dort gibt es unglaublich viele Aktivitäten.
Ich finde fast keine Worte um zu beschreiben wie viel Spaß ich dort hatte. Mein Favorit war Klettern. Ich habe sogar ein Angebot vom Eigentümer bekommen beim ihm als Freiwilliger zu arbeiten. Er haette Essen und Unterkunft zur Verfügung gestellt. Dies war sehr verlockend, jedoch ist es zu frueh um in einem gewissen Land fuer eine Zeitlang zu verweilen.
Waere ich jetzt schon 6 Monate unterwegs, haette ich wahrscheinlich das Angebot angenommen. Ich habe auch schon ueber das Klettern in Thailand gehoert. Dies
wird auf Felsen oberhalb des Strandes sein. Hoert sich viel besser an. :-)
In Yangshou you could easily spent 2 weeks and you wouldn't even notice how fast time goes by. Guilin is almost not worth visiting once you've been to Yangshou. In fact don't waste time in Guilin and go straight to Yangshou.
Yangshou is very touristy but in a way even that makes it quiet nice and you can get some good deals on clothes and other things.
We cycled to the Dragon Bridge, some jumped off it into the Li River, went for a hike from Yangdi to Xingping, climbed a karst, did drifting with a hangover and we also managed to see cormorant fishing. There are so many more activities out there and it certainly is a worthwhile holiday place.
I almost can't find words to describe how much fun I had out there. My favourite was rock climbing. I even got an offer from the owner to work for his company as a volunteer with food and accommodation provided.
If I had been travelling for 6 months, I would be considering the offer. But for now, it's too early
to stop somewhere for a month. I already heard that climbing in Thailand on rocks above the beach is a thousand times more exhilarating. I think I may well settle there for a while. :-)
Anyway, I think the pics show how beautiful the area is and anyone who is going to China should visit Yangshuo.
