I've never been to Shenzhen, but did live in Beijing for over 3 years... I'd say that this blog was very well-written and in many ways accurately describes living as a North American in Beijing as well. Thanks for posting this.

well, it's been 2 years since I was there! Shenzhen is huge, where do you live? You want clubs, or relaxed places? Many people like Hai Shan Shi Jie in Shekou

enjoyed reading your blog. I myself intend to move to shenzhen soon, and I was just wondering what rent should I be expecting for a one bedroom apartment (more like your apartment). I would probably like to live in longgang district. any info would be much appreciated.
