We are in Bejing
Right Ok so me and Rachel have finaly landed after what seems like 3 weeks on a plane. The word knackered can not even come near. We checked in to the Chongwenmen Hostel. Well I was a bit dissapointed actually as I have never seen a hostel like it. It was brilliant, clean, comfortable, tv, working toilet, resturant and best of all no bugs at all(well any that you can make out with the natural eye).

Meet up with the rest of the group that evening for a group meeting. The meeting place was in STARBUCKS!!!! I know what a cop out bloody Starbuck as our first taste of this brilliant city. Anyway after the shock of that our keader went through a few things about the Chinese way of life. Below I have listed but a few:

1. Everyone smokes
2. Everyone spits anywhere including on your feet
3. You are very likley to get ran over as no driver really pays attention to the traffic lights
4. 99% of toilets are squats, so get ready to test out some balancing skills (hard after a few beers)

I didn't mean to put anyone off and please

please dont be this is such a brilliant, vibrant and cool city.

After the meeting we all went to a local Bejing duck joint where I must say the food was fab and the beer was real good. So after we stuffed ourselves silly we went to a bookstore with a bar in it named lush, where there was a whole range of yummy cocktails.

So after a long flight good food and a few bevies it was bed time(at last).
