This park is to the north west of the Forbidden City and i is only a 5-10minute walk from there. After paying for a ticket(20yuan) you walk in to a massive park with a loch. Around the park you will find lots of small temples that are hidden away. You can get lost very easy. You also have any boats that take you back and forth to the different parts as the place is that big. The highlight though is the monument at the highest peak inside the park. I can't remember its name(sorry). It is well worth the visit, if you can manage walking up the stairs. Their is lots to see and do and you could easily spend an entire day here exploring every inch of the place.
To the east of the Forbidden city you have the 'Workers Cultural Palace'. The name itself doesnt sound inspiring, but it is worth a visit while you are in the area. Inside there is lots of small monuments and buildings from the same time as the Forbidden City. The best thing about this park is that everyone bypasses it on the way to the F. City and T. Square that you will have peace and quiet to explore it. Entry cost 10yuan
