Travelling Asia with a Child

Hi All

Does anyone have experience of travelling Asia with a child? My daughter is 5 years old and early next year me and the hubby are planning on taking a month out from work and travelling through China, Vietnam, cambodia and Thailand (if we can fit it all in!)

Anyone come across any families travelling with small children? I think it would be a fabulous experience for her but some friends and family say we're mad for thinking about taking her on this trip.
