While most of the main tourist attractions are in the Dian Men and Chongwen districts, we were eager to venture out of the main areas and see what was on the other ring roads in Beijing.

On our way from the airport we passed an area called Dong Zhi Men. There seemed to be a series of western outlet shops here, so we through we would attempt to spend the day in this area. We took the train up to this area and got off at Dong Zhi Men. This area/stop is actually a major bus terminal to outlying areas. The subway allows you get into the main shopping areas. The main floor has a few fast food shops and small shops. You can go up the escalator to see a series of boutique type shops. Not a very big mall, but we had a coffee and slice of cake on the second floor, yummy :0

Outside the mall is one of the busiest motorways in Beijing. It’s one of the main arteries that take you to and from the city. There are pathways that take you across the street. There are a few other malls you can go to with a variety of shops. Prices aren’t that much cheaper, not to much to do here.
