Beijing!

Good afternoon!
Just a quick update from surpringly sunny Beijing!
we arrived safe and sound on thursday morning after about 20 hours of train, two planes, a bus and lots of walking. Next time someone tells you that the world is a small place, ask them to meet you here! so far we have done lots of wandering around, and we will write something more detailed when we have more time, but so far so good. our first truly chinese experience happened almost as soon as we got off the bus, when we saw a man walking home with his lunch in a plastic bag, lunch in this case being a rather large, and thankfully dead, snake! We also seem to be rather popular with the locals, yesterday at the Summer Palace we were the star attraction, posing for photos when asked, or smiling when we saw that someone had secretly snapped us as we walked past.....still not too sure why, blond hair? blue eyes? 6ft tall? who knows?!
We will upload photos etc as soon as we can, but in this hotel it will take about a week! so, till next time.....
