Arrived in Phnom Penh this aft, following a smooth but long (7 hours) bus ride from Siem Reap. We walked around our fine neighbourhood which has the National Museum of Cambodia (checked it out) and the Royal Palace and Pagoda (was closed) and the very lovely riverfront walk. Took a tuk-tuk across downtown and visited the Genocide Museum at Tuol Sleng S21, commemorating the heinous crimes of the Khmer Rouge. It was very dark and sobering, of course, but worth seeing. Then a bit of a market visit and another tasty dinner (we are batting 1,000 in this department).
Our boat trip on the Mekong begins tomorrow. More later.

Hi
It is so good to read your entries...and vicariously enjoy all the sights, sounds and smells...not to mention imagining how good the food tastes. Carry on, and happy trails
