So a van took us about 15km from the border, from there we hickhiked. After crossing the town we came into Poipet, the Cambodian "wild west". After about two hours of walking around being threatened, ect. we finally found someone to take us to Siem Reap. We did the temples for a few days, you know, a sunrise here and a sunrise there. That was amazing, but we actually met a man who lived close to a floating village and offered to take us, so of course we went! We boated around and through a few floating villages; totally functional sustainable villages in the middle of nowhere. We jump out of the boat and paddled around just meeting people (mostly children out of school for break). On the way back our friend invited us to his home; where he, his brother and wife, their 7 kids, and his father...all in a single room house mostly sleeping on hammocks. The circles you see on one of the children's back is very popular among the Khmers, when chilren are sick they put a mason jar on their back with a candle inside to create a suction. They believe this takes the bad things

Getting our VISA...the one lonely Fin out of their body. Also, you'll see a car battery on the floor, this is how most people get their electricity, charged about once every week or two.
