Just to the south of Banteay Srei, there is a grassroot organisation that is working to remove the 5million landmines still in cambodia along with the other unexploded munitions from assorted wars over the last 50 years.

Those are 500lb shells from Vietnam war

The prosthetic leg was used by a person maimed by a landmine. Nothing about this prosthetic looked comfortable. That's shapped steel and a timber foot - the steel would have grated againts the person's flesh.

Lots of tourists and vendors... no peace or quiet.

Very similar to Pre Rup, just not built up as tall. Perhaps they ran out of bricks and were unable to build the taller platforms.

You can see that the stones at the top or precariously hanging over the edge and some of already collapsed inwards.
