The situation has changed very fast. Making a trip to Putaois much easier now. By just requesting a permission to travel to Putao area wont take longer than two weeks. After that, you are free to travel to putao and its environs. Only, when you wish to travel to Hkakaborazi area you need to work out a bit longer to get permission.

There are choice of accommodations now. It ranges from the guest house cum-hotel in the army compound to some departmental guest house which are cheaper. Transfer from Putao airport to Putao is by four wheel drive vehicles operated by the army. There are two or three food shops which are clean and at reasonable rate which can be relied on.
