Long necks
On Safari in Kruger I left you in Eshowe and I'm soo Glad I left, my god it has to be the worst hostel in the world. I was one of three people staying there and because the Baz bus only runs certain days i was stuck there, i nearly slit my wrists. Rain, cold and outdoor showers = happy days! The reason for my eshowe catastrophe was to do Zululand so went around this Zulu village with a thousand little kids in tow wanting a picture taken. As for the Zulu beer rocking, hardly, looked bad white and foamy and tasted even worse. Was pretty cool though and felt very African so much so they even did the whole clicking when they talked, wicked.
Next stop and a new country Swaziland. I stayed on the Milwane Nature Reserve and it was absolutely stunning and animals roaming free we nearly hit a zebra as we arrived. There were zebras, warthogs, imparla, monkeys, wilder-beast and supposedly hippos but I think that was just a lie, I didn't see any! But we could just wonder around the reserve and get so close to the animals it was crazy. Headed for the craft market in Manzini as
I hadn't done any shopping and a girl needs retail therapy. It was seriously dirt cheap, I just had to buy 1 pound 50 for like a cool drum just what i needed. but the fellas I went with bought drums, spears, Shields you name it and made me feel better bout my stupid purchases. My last night was a little crazy, and lead to a very interesting tip to Nelspuite for my safari I wasnt feeling to happy on the bus!
Kruger was wicked! We got around on this cool pick-up truck with seats bolted in, sounds bad but was really cool and all open and there was only me and a lovely German fella so had loads of room to move around. Within minutes in the camp we stumbled onto giraffes and zebras, they were crazy close. Over the next couple of days we saw loads of elephants, rhinos, mongoose, warthog, wilder-beast, lions, kudo, loads of impala, which makes good stew as tasted in Swazi. It was all going really well, camping was wicked until a massive storm brewed and it rained all night and my word is thunder loud when you camping! The trip back
Drunk? Sober as a judge!
Well "its Saturday" and We are the champions! from camp was miserable, open top isn't so good in the rain!!! Then to get me back to the hostel for the bus I had drunk and drunker driving, when not bickering, certainly an experience!
On to Pretoria for the next stop, I didn't fancie staying in Jo'burg and from the stories Ive been hearing I'm very glad. Had yet another crazy night in Hatfield, the embassy land of S.A and went to this crazy Africarn student club. My word the dancing, I've never seen anything like it. Two-step to old 80's classics which is apparently the way to woe the ladies and everyone stone cold sober dancing on tables at like 11 to Tina Turner. Was cool tough meant you could get to get to the bar. Which in turn meant our dancing on the tables came more around 4ish. Was a wicked night but stumbled home at 6.30 only to go on a Jo'burg tour at 8, nice. Think I slept most of it.
County number 3 on my tour next Zambia and Victoria falls. Awesome, in the true sense of the word! We walked right next to the falls and got well and truly soaked, all the rich weekender tourists had rain coats on but we figured it ruined the experience, so shorts and T shirt it was. Boy were we wet! It felt like someone was throwing buckets over us. Couldnt see at points because there was so much waster in my eyes. That was the day Reading got made champions so another night of beer was called for as a celebration, man there was beer. Some local fella decided he wanted to buy us beer all night long, even when his mate passed out at the table he stayed buying us beer that and one of the fellas, Owen, wouldnt take no as an answer claimg 'its Saturaday night' . The entrainment in the club was two guys miming in stage not too good!, so it was deiced that we would be the entertainment and got up on stage never to be allowed off by the locals teaching us to dance. Even when a few 'We are the champions' was 'sung'.That crazy night that lead to a lazy day by the pool instead of the gorge swinging I was meant to be doing. So my African adventure is over, I cant believe its been so quick cos I'm having such a wicked time I'll be home before I know it. Next stop Hong Kong- bring it on!
