We spend on night in Kampala, but manage to fit a few sights in. Our guide is an hour late to meet us as usual; never use Hakuna Matata tours, they are useless!!

We pop to Buganda Road craft market to buy a pressed bark cushion cover. Then visit the Palace, I have to wear a wrap skirt as all women must in the grounds, even though my legs are covered by trousers. The palace is now not used for much, it has had many residents as leaders have changed over the years. The most gruesome sight on the grounds are the underground cells where prisoners were kept in Idi Amin's time. The channel was filled with water and electrified so that people could not escape. There are etchings on the wall where prisoners wrote their last words before execution, very spooky.

Then it's on to Jinja. It's meant to be an hour drive, but our driver some how makes it 3 hours! We ask why he is so slow and letting trucks overtake us, so he speeds up and nearly knocks over a school child, he's basically just a bad driver!!
In Jinja, it's the blind leading the blind. Our guide says he knows the area well, the driver clearly has no clue what country he's even in, between them neither can find our hotel though. Luckily I have a guide book and can direct, what is a very simple route. Unfortunately this is too much for our driver, he panics, drives the wrong way round a roundabout and then the wrong way down a carriage way. Later as he drives us around town he also attempts to turn the wrong way onto a one way road, we are screaming from the back seat as there are clear one way signs and no left turn signs. How is this bloke employed as a driver when he cannot follow simple road signs!!!

Jinja is a dull town, pretty dingy. We don't see many sights, mainly drinking and dancing. We manage to get out money back which was lent to Hakuna Matata, and a small refund for the appalling service. I still would recommend that everyone avoids this company, they have no idea about customer service, have no qualified guides or drivers and are generally rubbish!!

Onto Kenya for a few days in an all inclusive resort outside Mombasa!!!
