Zebras
Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania After 6 days on safari, I have moved on to the beach for a little relaxation. The safari was great! We started at Lake Manyara were we saw many elephants, hippos, zebra.... The next day we set off for Ngorongoro Crater which amazed us with how close some of the animals were including a male lion that walked down the road in front of us! Then we headed to the Serengeti for a couple of days. The animals were much harder to spot here but we still managed to see a number of lions even close up and a couple of them chowing down on a quill and then the hyenas cleaning up what the other animals would leave. Giraffes really close up here, did you know that when they walk they move both left legs then both right legs! We watched an elephant break down a tree to eat right on the road and we saw the Olduvai Gorge (the cradle of man). After the Serengeti we took my worst road so far in Africa for 4 hours to Lake Natron and Ol Doinyo Lengai - another volcano to get excited about. We walked to a waterfall through all the

Yes, we were that close!!! Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania pools it was really refreshing after the dust from the safari and the next day we reunited with the dust for a walk to the lowest lava flow, very exciting, you could see all the salt coming out - stalagtites of salt! Now I have left the group that I started with and am enjoying white sand beaches and the sun of Zanzibar!
