This past weekend was a busy one for the Jensens. Saturday morning George and I went to have a Bible class with Joyce, a new convert. Her husband is needed to translate, but due to miscommunication, he was not there. We had an abbreviated class, with Joyce's son doing some translation for George, but that proved to be not very effective. We were disappointed because it is difficult to find time when both she (who works rotating shifts at a factory) and her husband (who works out of town during the week) are available. Hopefully we'll be able to schedule another class soon. It's important to continue classes to help new converts build their faith.
The Kisongo congregation, close to ACSOP, hosted a two day seminar this past weekend. Jacob, Luke and Lindsey went Saturday morning, and George and I joined them after our meeting with Joyce. Various topics were presented, and George preached two powerful lessons on Sunday. His assigned topics were "Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage", as well as "Does the Bible Speak About Abortion?" He was also asked to address the idea about whether or not Christians can use abortion as a method for family planning. His lesson
on abortion was right after lunch and the room was warm and stuffy, but no one fell asleep. Abortion is a huge problem here. It is against the law in Tanzania, except in such circumstances in which the mother's life is in danger. However, there are many "butcher shops" and the law is pretty much ignored, by both government and civilians.
Classes have resumed at ACSOP. George is currently teaching "Marriage and Family" to the second year students of the English program. There is also a new group of men who are the first to be enrolled in the Swahili program, which is very similar to the English program, but provided for those who are not proficient in English.
Jacob has begun going two days a week with Ahimidiwe, who works with the Kisongo congregation, to do some visitation and home Bible studies. The area in which they are working is primarily inhabited by Massai. The need to ask questions, listen and accurately determine where people are in their Bible knowledge is underscored time and time again. Jacob is presently teaching a person who has no idea who Jesus is, and so it will be a very slow

Lindsey worked very hard to cook a special Valentine's dinner for George and me, and Jacob and Luke contributed their talents as well to ensure a very special evening. process to bring her to a place wherein she can make a knowledgeable choice.
We have several concerns that are on our minds. Would you be willing to take some time to pray for these individuals? *Jimmy Gee, one of our fellow missionaries, is in the states, and is having surgery today on a couple of herniated discs.
*Julia will be leaving Oklahoma March 1 and traveling back here to Tanzania.
*Joy's Grandmother, who will be 89 next month, is doing very poorly. Joy's mother, Betty, cares for her around the clock.
*Shauna Heck, wife to Darren and mother to two sweet little children, has been putting up a very hard fight against cancer, and she needs our constant prayers.
Thank you so much for your prayers, your financial support, and your words of encouragement.
In Christ,
Joy
