A bird with its back to us.

David, our guide woke us up at 4.30 this morning. We quickly got dressed and had a coffee and pastry in the lodge before walking over the swing bridge to the car. It was still dark. We had a beautiful, fiery orange sunrise. We saw a white rhino, black-backed jackal running past, giraffe munching on leaves, a large pack of wild dogs (one of three in the park), Southern Yellow Billed Hornbills (also known as flying bananas), wildebeest, springbok, zebra and impala.

When we returned it was breakfast time. Breakfast started with a fruit platter, then cheese and cold meat platter, toast and hot breakfast. It was so much food and all delicious! Once again we met with the general manager and discussed the job. We came to an agreement. We are now employed! It was hard to believe that it was so easy and for our interview we had the 5 star treatment- now we know what it is like for our guests. We agreed to move in on Monday and be ready to start work on Tuesday. We were pretty excited. The staff that we met were quite friendly and positive about working at Jaci's. We said

goodbye and left. On the way out of the park we saw a dead puff adder on the road- it made Paul's day to see a snake. I was glad that it wasn't alive.
