Some of the luscious green plants. Geo: -24.7655, 26.2972
Today the lodge was very quiet, so Judy (The Tree Lodge manager) took a car full of staff from various departments out for the day. We went to two other nearby lodges- just to show the staff. This gave us a chance to compare the rooms and main lodge with our lodge. It was nice to see other lodges and learn from them and realise that some things we do better than other places.
We then went to the Madikwe Botanical Gardens. We had a little walk around the gardens- which are full of indigenous plants and flowers. The chefs had packed us a picnic lunch which we enjoyed in the shade. Soon after we started eating, a troop of Banded Mongoose arrived. They ran around our legs. We gave them a few crumbs and they continued their search for insects to eat.
After our picnic lunch, we had another walk around the gardens, then returned back to our lodge and went back to work.
