Hey guys...... It's June 15th and I am back in Kathmandu, we just arrived back from Pokhara where we did our long awaited 50km trek through the Himalayas. It was incredible, the experience of a lifetime. The monsoon season just started and there have been some really fantastic storms.....thunder so loud it shakes the buildings and jolts you from your peaceful sleep in the middle of the night. I love it. We are just kind of hanging out, day to day life and waiting to go to India....India - where it hit 50 degrees the other day!! We visited the local library and I took a picture of the books that had been taken out to go back on the racks. It was amazing, they were all political. If you view the full image you can see the titles.

The lady on the left: for some reason she haunted me - she still does when I look at that picture and remember her. Her eyes hold an untold story and I wonder what it is she has seen.

Hey guys, great pics and an even better read. I was so touched and moved by what you saw and the people you met. There is a great deal of misconceptions when it comes to some of those places in S.Africa.

Congratulations!
Congratulations Heide! The power of our written word is enormous. There is a small spark of writing in most of us just waiting to be ignited by our creative wind. And you Heide have certainly ignited your creative wind with your eloquent blog re Zwelihle township. There is a narrowness to all our lives, lived as we are in privilege and in full consciousness that millions of less fortunate, but equally deserving souls go without. Unique experience for you Heide adding value and quality to your life. I'm sure very fulfilling. Very moving stories and pictures.
