Cape Town

[youtube=fWEahmu3IaE][youtube=8xVupviDKd8]After enjoying the Quarter Finals in Port Elizabeth, I had to go to the Semi Finals in Cape Town. Just had to do it. We began our ticket adventure at the Fan Fest with what felt like a million people dressed in orange. It was more packed there than any other game except for the 1st one with Bafana Bafana. After Uruguay's sour win over Ghana, they had very little support that we saw outside of the stadium. Not too many proud Uruguay fans. We did the entire fan walk from the fan fest to the stadium about 3 km FULL, packed FULL of Dutch supporters - blowing their vuvuzelas and chanting their songs. SO FUN. We walked to our normal meeting place, Giovanni's a fantastic little Italian deli, with coffee, sandwiches and all kinds of goodies, where we got SUPER lucky and got 4 FIFA family tickets for 50% of face value. AMAZING. (4 of us: Miki, Jesse, Elyse and I, Evan was on the airplane) They were category 2 tickets right above the concrete tunnels in the first row, near a goal. Very nice tickets for about the same as I got the rest of the tickets. Anyways it was insane and HOLLAND IS GOING TO THE WORLD CUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HUP HOLLAND HUP!!

Right before the end of the game all of us went to the section on the otherside of the stadium, that was ALL orange, with the drummers and all the crazy dutch fans. After the game ended we stayed there for over an hour singing, chanting, trying to get on tv and waiting for the players to come back out. (I was on Dutch tv for sure) Sure enough a few players came running out singing and chanting and before you knew it the WHOLE team was right in front of us, singing and dancing right along side of all of us. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. SO SICK. Robben, Sneidjer, all of them RIGHT THERE.. doing exactly what we were doing. AMAZING. That in itself was worth all the money. SO SO exciting for the DUTCH. I almost feel dutch. I am a little chameleon, I will be who ever I want, whenever I want 😊

Everyone was singing songs, all in Dutch, my favorite was one where they were talking about how they won't go home without the cup, but to me it sounded like put the bacon in the house, the bacon in the house.. I liked that song too. So I have definitely been making up my own lyrics that apply more to me, then the Dutch.

Anyways SO GREAT. YOU ALL BETTER BE WEARING YOUR ORANGE AND SUPPORTING NETHERLANDS on the 11th. HUP HOLLAND HUP!
