Otjikoto LakeOtjikoto LakeOtjikoto Lake

TThe Germans in WW1 dumped a lot of ammunition, tanks, guns etc in this lake which is 55 m deep, with underground caverns...
After the long dusty trip to Caprivi, we had a short break and then went to Etosha Game Park for a couple of days returning and staying at Johnny's farm overnight. Another rest day before we headed off again. We stayed at a farm near Kombat which is the Geo's base camp, and there were plenty of birds - there are so many and such a variety, though they are very camera shy and I only have the 300 mm lens.... too hard!!
Thank you to all who have written comments - I know someone is paying attention!! So far we have been very well even though Robyn and Alex have been nursing heavy colds for about a month!!
Johhny's farm has been organised for hunters - after the game, though we didn't see any game - too elusive for us.

Very friendly as you see - these were at Nematoni - the rest camp we arrived at first when we entered Etosha Park.

We thought it was unusual the way the elephants first seemed to stamp up and down in this area of mud before continuing on.

Springboks.
Sounds like you are having a great time. I know how it feels to travel with people who are sick - we had to do it too and both seem to have picked up a small dose of it but are managing to fend it off, we hope. Love the photo of the springboks. How did you get them to stand so symmetrically? Cya back in Perth Judy
