The first day of our travels delivered us a big dose of culture shock and emotion all thrown together and the three days that followed continued to stir our hearts. The first part of the mission itinerary was to spend some time at the IAA orphanage, doing minor repairs, organizing, painting, and just spreading the love. Keep the journal entries coming
Well Jeremy, this journal entry as was the first, is no diappointment. You have an awesome God given talent to write and you are using it in such a way that when anyone reads the entries they can easily visualize the events of the mission trip. Thank you again for reducing to paper what we are feeling in our hearts. I know all of us daily thank God for giving Jane the wisdom and vision to create IAA.

Thank you for your journal
Jeremy, You write so eloquently, a God given talent that I enjoyed reading. I have a great interest in the Children of IAA, and it was so wonderful to see them growing up so well. I know how much they are loved, as one that loves them from afar. The lollipop and coke delivery was something that is close to my heart. As the first American to go live in Kenya on behalf of Jane and IAA, I always had candy in my pockets (as well as lots of kleenex, you know what I'm talking about) when I went to the site during construction...the local children gave me the name Auntie Sweetie and it stuck when the children came to live at the IAA Site. So I was happy to see that lollipops (sweeties) were still an important part of the "Mission". 2002/2003, my time in Kenya, was the most memorable part of my life, and I thank you for bringing those sweet memories back with your words and photos. Kenya can change you for the rest of your life! Asante Asana my rafiki for your insight and lovely dialog. Cheers, Auntie Sweetie.

Missing Kenya
Jeremy, you have such an awesome gift of writing. Thank you so much for blogging and adding photos of our trip. It was so wonderful meeting you and getting to know you and watching you come out of your comfort zone. I was so proud of you when you gave your testimony and did so great! I can hardly wait for the next update. Keep writing! This past weekend I was really having a hard time missing the whole team and being in Kenya. I hope we get to all go again together one day. God bless!

ON the issue of girlfriend
In your blog you said, "They asked, “Not even a girlfriend?”, “No” I replied “Not even a girlfriend” and the response I received left me in stitches. “It’s OK! You’ll find somebody someday.” " Big Grin.... let me introduce you to my oldest daughter, dude!!! Keep the entries coming. Praying for the work He is doing through you and the team. Would Sackcloth2joy send a CD to me to share with Hank Lueck of Mission Recording - the recording studio here at Helps International??? In Christ Dennis

Hey Jeremy!!!
Jeremy- Your blog is awesome! I really miss all the team and Kenya. I just cannot seem to get past the longing I have to be there. I find myself trying to eat what we ate there(well, some of the stuff!!) and I have been making "Kenya" tea. You did a really great job on the trip of just diving into whatever was needed at the moment. And your testimony truly blessed me--- I was wiping tears the whole time. My kids share some of your background and it was encouraging to hear a good out come! It was a true joy to meet you and get to know you over those 2 weeks. I had a blast with everyone and look forward to going again!!! BTW---I have a daughter too--hehehe just kiddin(she would kill me if she saw this!!) love ya---take care....Annette
