Equatorial Guinea is located on the West Coast of Africa. Its first president was Francisco Macias Nguema. During his reign, he created a single party and took all powers such as legislation and all of the judicial system. Nguema targeted Bubi people and exiled and murdered one third of the population, including villages and those allegedly against him. These executions were also held in football stadiums, and he also closed down churches. The estimated death toll was 80,000 out of 300,000. He was overthrown, by his nephew in 1979, and executed by crime of genocide. After the new power took place, the people did not go through much change in improvement. Equatorial Guinea is still known as one of the nine least free countries in the world, with no type of freedom of speech.
