Heading to Hobart for the first time. Advice please!
Hi everyone, I'm heading to Hobart on a work trip. I'm staying three days and only one of these is an official 'work day'. But I've never been to Hobart. I'm staying on the waterfront <snip> so it looks like I'll be quite close to the action. I just have no idea where to go, what to eat, what to do etc for two whole days on my own.
Any recommendations? I don't want to waste the trip!

Reply to this Hi again, amy. You sure get around 😊.
I have only been to Hobart once some years ago but I suggest one of the first things you do is get on one of the Hop-on Hop-off buses (from memory there are three operators. Search for "Hobart Bus Tours".) This will give you a good idea of what is worth seeing.
Personally I would recommend the (old!) convict women's prison and Salamanca markets.
You don't say when you are going but it is very cold there at the moment - low single digits (Centigrade) - with rain and the occasional flurry of snow.
Even Australia gets cold and wet. Where I live is 1000+ kms (about 700 miles) North of Hobart and it is 7-19C today with verrrrry cold winds coming off the Snowy Moutains (feels like 2C).
Try not to be there when a cruise ship is in harbour.
