Hi! Guys
I have done a lot of researches try to find a good Pantanal eco tour.
Has anyone heard about Pousada Santa Clara ? this agency is extremely cheap (05 days / 04 nights for R$ 460,00 ). I know we should not trust cheap one but my budget is really limited, and where I heard about this agency was from a guy has been to the Pantanal. I just hope to hear more opinions

Reply to this That certainly is cheap and I've heard reasonable things about it. The problem is that it's not very far into the Pantanal so you don't get as good wildlife as you would further in at somewhere like the Rio Mutum? Still, for that price I'd say it's hard to beat...

You can get an idea of what it's like if you read my blog entry titled "There's something about Brazil".
The pousada is indeed not very far into the Pantanal. Having said this, I saw a huge amount of varied wildlife. The pousada is very comfortable, with excellent facilities and very good food. For the price I doubt it can be beaten. Sure, it's not like forking out megabucks - or megareais - for a "boutique" lodge deeper in the Pantanal. But then as always in life, you get what you pay for, don't you? I enjoyed my time there and I'm a keen wildlife-watcher. No jaguars but I wasn't expecting one, and they are occasionally seen around the pousada (we found some fresh prints).
This thread brings up another point for me - everyone's always wanting to head "deeper" into unspoiled areas in a desire to "get away" from more developed areas. The Pantanal is a highly fragile ecosystem and cattle ranching has already caused huge damage to the area. I'm not convinced that lodges "deeper" inside this delicate area are necessarily a good idea. Let's leave the really wild areas to the jaguars!

I'm planning my trip to the Pantanal in a month and have contacted GIL Pantanal Discovery, I texted him on Whatsapp and he gave me an overview of what they do and the prices, which seem very reasonable.
Is that what you are looking for? What does your agency offer for R$460? Gil gave me the price R$680 for 3 days/2 nights all inclusive, that is transfer, food, jeep safari, night safari, a guide and accommodation, that does sound quite good!
