Today, Susan and I did an excursion to Stonehenge and Bath. Last night we went to bed before 8 but we needed to since we didn’t get any sleep last night on the plane. We were told to be at the pickup point at 8am but we arrived earlier so that we could get a bit of breakfast and our sodas. Well, we got there, got our pastry and diet cokes and got in line. The tour was supposed to leave at 8:30. It didn’t. Seems there is a train strike in the area and traffic was horrible. We left a bit later when our guide showed up. She kept making excuses for everything, but it started with why she was late. “they told me I should be there at 9…..” So we get on the bus for a 2 hour drive to Stonehenge. Susan and I both slept a portion of it.
I had been to Stonehenge almost 20 years ago with Keri. It didn’t seem the same. Yes, the stones were the same, but I didn’t remember that visitors center and we could get closer to the stones back then. The sight still is amazing. Who
knows how they did the stones and moved them there and set them up. We took the shuttle back to the visitor’s center and there was a replica town beside it that represented the town they found where the workers lived. As we were talking to the guide, I mentioned that I had been here almost 20 years ago, He said oh that was before all this, and the visitors center was right near Stonehenge and that the side road went all the way through. That is how I remembered it. I’m not going crazy. Susan and I grabbed a quick lunch at the visitor’s center and then headed to the bus.
We had another hour to Bath where the Roman Baths are located. On the way the guide started talking about Harry and Megan. She is not fond of them. “I’m not racist. The crown asked them to help server the people and send them to Africa since she is black, but that’s not racist. They wondered what kind of hair the baby would have, like Harry’s or hers, but that’s not racist:”. She went on and on about them and how everyone loved them until
they left royal duties and he wrote “that book”… She must have talked for 30 minutes of the drive. I would have rather rested.
Bath was interesting and we learned more about the construction, uses and restoration of the baths. After touring the baths, Susan and I walked around the town. We had time to kill so we walked up to the Circus area that the guide kept praising. It was nice but she just kept saying we ALL had to go to it because it was beautiful.
Back to the bus for the ride back. Now she started in on politics and how bad the unions are. She went on about this for15 minutes or so. Ok enough. When we got back in London, she was talking about this one area where the designers (home decorators) were so good. Then she started in on well, “you know those people that buy those kinds of things, you just have to be so careful in their houses. Those kinds of people”
So, I hoped that the tour company would ask for a review. Smile, my phone just beeped and the company wants

Seems familiar
This reminds me of the crazy cab driver we had in Hawaii from the airport. At least it was all opinions and you weren't worried about actually making it back like we were.
