Wow! Looks like a really nice part of the world to visit. Fiji is definitely on my radar. I thought January wasn't a good time of year to visit because of hurricanes, but judging from your remarks it seems ok to me. Even if it rains a bit, who cares! And two birthday celebrations while crossing the international time zone, even better! Happy belated birthday!
Beautiful! It all looks magical. The water is so amazing. As I was reading your blog, I could feel the sand in my toes and feel the ocean breeze. The photos as usual are incredible. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Xoxoxox
Blue Lagoon Nice photos as usual. I liked the photos of the statues and the market looked interesting as well as the Gauguin paintings, besides the beautiful countryside. You figured it out doing the ship to get you to the islands and seeing the ceremonies. Maybe, tattoos originated in those islands. I wonder if they trade for the tattoos or how it works? Those sharks like shallow water. I spoke to Josh Stearns recently and his last trip was to Mexico City. Stay safe and have fun. Grant
Beautiful The photos are amazing! I’m sitting with Elizabeth who loves tattoos and we could not believe the spectacular art work. We were thinking the work on the buns must have hurt some. Take care and enjoy. Xoxoxox
Svalbard Always looking at getting to Norway...but which way and when always the eternal questions. Wonderful pics that makes this dancer want to make it sooner rather than later!
love this pic Gotta agree this is a great pic. Perfect example of how click on a photo and WOW! The polar bear outlined with light on a brown denuded hillock with ethereal peaks as backdrop...Wow in my book.
Ice, Glaciers and Fauna Hi Ed and Michelle; Good stuff as usual with great photos and another great adventure for you. Funny, when in Flagstaff I read The Sun and there was a story about Svalbard and a trip the author took so I thought how timely. It sounds like you hit it right for weather and certainly wildlife viewing. Are you back in Boise now since this is from the 23rd etc. Stay safe and have fun. Grant
It was a very interesting blog. It is definitely a wonderful feeling to see polar bears, and traveling in the pole is an experience that not everyone gets to experience. I wish you the best.
Global Connect We travelled through Uzbekistan with them in October 2019 and they tailored an amazing trip for us with my input on hostels & hotels & free days etc. With that and the thoughtful, knowledgeable and entertaining guides, we also cannot recommend , namely Global Connect, more highly. We also liked that they were a local Uzbek company, rather than a corporate Western that used locals as sub-contractors.
Uzbek Rugs You didn't buy any!!! Why not??? We bought three silk rugs as they were so exquisite, one in Khiva and two in Bukhara...safely posted and safely arrived in Oz where they have pride of place among my Persians. The prices were reasonable and the quality making me want many more.
Rugs and Mosques everywhere Hi Ed and Michelle: More amazing places to check out again and it looks like you are having fun. My next trip will be AZ. Keep on trekking and trucking. Grant
