from our stateroom We woke up, ate breakfast and Susan headed to the medical center for her bandage change. She also got them to evaluate her for her cold. She came back with cough syrup, lozenges, and a z pack. We then decided to take the shuttle from the ship to the port terminal. I’m glad we didn’t try to walk as it was a LONG way but also had many turns that we would not have known which way to go. Once at the terminal, we got a city map and walked into the town. There was not much going on and no cute little shops to go into. At least we got some steps. After a bit, we headed back to the ship, settled in then went to lunch. We took several pictures from the deck of the boat into the city. The weather today was so much better than yesterday. It was mostly cloudy with a bit of sun now and then but no wind. Around 2 we headed down for our excursion. They were assigning buses right inside the ship and the line was crazy. I’m wondering if it had rained a bit or something because I’d never seen this

downtown Holyhead before and the daily said we were supposed to meet at the pier.
We got on our bus and took off. The excursion is a trip around the island which was 20 by 20 miles and was just off the coast of mainland Wales. And I mean just off the coast!!! It’s maybe twice the width of Snow’s Cut (the inlet that makes Carolina Beach and island). The countryside has so many green fields of sheep and cattle. There are hedgerows and local fauna alongside the roads and separating the fields and small villages along the way. We made a stop to see 2 of the oldest bridges. One is the oldest suspension bridge in the world. The pictures there show the distance to the mainland. We then stopped at a store where you can buy pretty much everything (clothes, household items, knick kacks,….) The local shopping district. This was in the town LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLLGOGERYCHWYRNDROBWLLLLANTYSILIOGOGOGOCH. I’ll let you pronounce it. It’s the longest town name in the world.
We got back to the ship, checked in and the recovered our passports. They took them at the beginning of the cruise since we were going into
Ireland (in the EU) and they needed them for processing. So now we are in the UK again until our last day in Bergen. Our passports are safely back in our safes.
Dinner rush was crazy, and we assume it was because tonight was the Beatles and everyone wanted to get there early. After dinner we went back to the room for a bit before joining the queue to get into the show. We got a good seat but had to wait 40 minutes for the start of the show. The on-board talent is great. They did ABBA the other day and today it was the Beatles. They are high energy and have fantastic voices. Everyone was engaged.

Loved the "Sweet Caroline" sign. You'll have to type out the translation for the town name; it's too blurry to read on the computer. Have fun!
