Albany and Buffalo I'm glad you made it back to the USA and we appreciate that you go to locations off the beaten track. There is more to do in Buffalo but you didn't have enough time. I'm glad you got a glimpse.
We hope you'll like the QC blog We also went to Quebec City. The blog from there is in the pipeline. We hope you reat it and enjoy it once we have published it. /Ake
Odd and interesting It could be that the rest of the church has been destroyed somehow and that only the tower remains. That theory is at least as good as ours. /Ake
Leonard Cohen rules (and nobody cares about Barbie) This heading made me laugh. And I agree, it's odd that the Barbie Museum didn't think to capitalise on the film's success
I guess the other famous Olympic gold was Anders Garderud in 3000 m steeplechase? It was a little bit odd to read about Bernt Johansson as one of the two goldmedallists, I guess that Anders Garderud was trhe second? Excellent text otherwise - as usual!
Anders Gärderud was the other Once I sat on a plane just three or four seats behine Anders Gärderud. I then had the chance to pull a small but fun prank on him but eventually didn't. I still regret that not going ahead with it. /Åke
Another fun blog I plan to visit Montreal in the future - perhaps in winter. Was good to hear about the underground city. Wondering what your favorite travel camera is these days? Happy holidays from Michigan!
Travel camera I have a pretty good Canon camera that I am happy with. But my latest mobile phone actually takes equally good photos. So I tend to snap with both the phone and the Canon and pick the one that comes out best. /Ake
Where are the Canadian blogs eh? Never mind the USA eh? Was looking forward to reading about your experiences in Canada this summer. There is one more blog so maybe they are on there. I will read ahead.
Re: Maybe I have a weird imagination I think it's more that seeing it in 3D is a very different experience than the 2D version. I know what you mean because I'm that person who's constantly pointing out shapes or objects in clouds or landscapes or architecture; and I'm usually met with a blank stare in return :D
Do you see what I see? "One building looks like it is flipping you the bird, and another looks like a penis" Well. I'm one of those people who constantly sees faces and shapes in inanimate objects... but to be honest, I couldn't see what you saw in the Criminal Justice Services building. Now with the Buffalo City Hall, I could kinda see what you mean; but if you hadn't captioned the photos I would have said this was the one extending a middle finger! Excellent architecture photos, and I love the RB Wing and Son building too :)
Maybe I have a weird imagination Maybe it is just me who has a weird imagination that makes me see insults and phalli in public architecture. Anyway, thanks for reading the blog. /Ake
Keep on Running Yay! Great blog too - it must be amazing for you to put together and see all the awesome places you've been to over the last few years. May you have many more years of running and travelling to go! 😊
A Second One Ah, I didn't realise there was a second one! That would make sense if your latest one was part III! I can safely say I'm a non-runner and am happy with that, lol!
We have three so far We have published three Running blogs so far and we have already started adding pictures to a fourth one. It might be two or three years until we publish that one though. /Ake
Great Blog Such a great blog Ake. I was directed here after opening your newer blog on running, and so cool to see so many pictures of you guys running, literally all over the world!
Street art and coffee We love street art and coffee, so I really enjoyed this blog. The architecture and the streets have a vibe very similar to Merida (Yucatan, Mexico); I thought this when I read your first blog on Puerto Rico too :)
Puerto Rico I have a couple of Puerto Rican friends but haven't considered it as a travel destination... that's clearly an oversight, because it looks great. And things like well-fed strays promotes the place even further for me :)
We enjoyed it We really enjoyed Puerto Rico. But we have to say that one week was enough to see everything we wanted to see and we don't see any reason for us to ever go back. /Ake
We are Emma Holmbro and Ake Dahllof. We live in Stockholm, Sweden.
We have travelled more or less regularly since the mid 1990-ies and it seems like the more we travel the more difficult it is to decide where to go next. Not because we are running out of places to visit but because we find more places we want to go to faster than we manage to travel to them.
Some of the things from our travel bucket list we have ticked off since we started this blog in 2006 are
