After weeks of absence, the sun finally came back this afternoon. Oh yeah! Obviously, I had no plan after work, except doing some grocery shopping because tomorrow is a bank holiday so everything will be closed. Once back home I remember I had seen something called Ciné Transat while browsing the internet looking for thing to do in Geneva. As it is an outdoor event I haven't had a chance to go yet. It's a really cool festival. They have an inflatable screen that that put up at the bottom of a park, near the lake. If you want you can rent a deck-chair (5 CHF) or just bring your own chair/cover to sit on. The projection starts at night fall. I arrived there a little before 9pm, with my picnic, a blanket, a book and my hoody. The night by the lake was a bit chilly and humid. But I was not too cold.
About the movie: tonight they were showing 'Whale rider'. I had never heard about it. It's a New Zealand movie from 2002. It tells the story of a Maori girl, Païkea, who wants to become the chief of her tribe. However, by tradition, this role
is reserved for the first male boy in the chief's family. But Païkea is an only-child. This movies shows the struggle of that girl to be accepted and through her story, the difficulties traditional tribe faces in the ‘modern' world.
Rating: 4/5. Don't expect any thrilling action in this film, it's a slice of life. It's well filmed and New Zealand's stunning landscapes serve the purpose of the film perfectly.
Note : 4/5.
