This ended up being such a wonderful trip (even with the craziness at the parade). I absolutely love spending time with my siblings, going to conferences and seeing new places. I got to do all three for nearly a week and a half! I think Chris and I both fell in love with the city. All the brick. It's so gorgeous. We don't have that back home!

David and Cory packed up and left early that morning so they could get back to work. I headed to my final day of classes. During my lunch break I hunted down my final lobster roll for the trip. Such sad partings. But goddamn are these things delicious! I went to nearby Luke's (really close to Boston Public Library) and the wandered around briefly taking pictures of Copley Square. I hadn't realized my final class for the day on Parkinson's would be offering food as well. So I just picked at their soggy sandwich, very happy and satisfied with having had a final glorious lobster roll beforehand.

I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to do that evening. I didn't like the idea of wandering around on my own, even though Boston had turned out to be a very safe city. I really wanted to get a great view of the Boston skyline, which meant venturing out at night. So I went to my studio after class, hung out, then wandered back to the conference center. The Hub is a restaurant in a hotel 52 floors above the Boston streets. I waited out the sunset up there, reading my book, drinking a glass of wine and eating lobster bisque and a very cute Boston Cream Pie dessert. The waiters kept checking on me to see if I needed anything. I felt bad because I was probably taking away someone's tips by just parking my butt in a prime seat with my awesome view of the city. I made sure I tipped well at the end.

Just as the sun was setting, I headed up another floor to the Skywalk Observatory, where you get 360 degree views of the entire city. They had a self-guided audio tour that I wandered around with. There were only a few other tourists up there with me. It was so beautiful at night! I realized I have begun to have a special love for city night skylines. After that, I walked back home to my studio and enjoyed a quite evening at home (probably the only real quite one that trip) reading my book and watching Law and Order SVU reruns.
