Vilanova
Walking to the beachBeautiful sunny day in Vilanova to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. A little cooler with a nice breeze. Following a relaxing breakfast we took a nice walk (about 15 minutes) down to the beach of Vilanova. Our first stop before we parked ourselves on the sandy beach was to enjoy a cold mojito under the breezy shade of the overhead pergola with sail shades on the beach. Made our way to two nice lounge chairs and an umbrella not wanting to get sunburned. Perfect!
We enjoyed swimming in the Mediterranean Sea as it was warm and our water was nice and shallow with a sand bar part way out into the waves. Ideal. Wayne and I dipped in and out of the water several times and enjoyed every moment. A few topless ladies gave Wayne a thrill????. An oriental lady was offering massages on the beach and of course Deb had to partake in a wonderful 1/2 hour massage. Why not?! Luxury treat day! We wandered back to our hotel around 4:30 and enjoyed a siesta from the heat and hot walk back.
Before we knew it it was time to shower for dinner. We both realized
that even though we had an umbrella on the beach we had both gotten quite sunburned, probably from our swims in the Sea. A quick stop to the Farmacia for Aloe Vera gel and then we walked to El Fabula Restaurant on the Rambla Principal for a special dinner. A great bottle of Spanish red wine and some Tapas to begin followed by steak for Wayne and Fisherman's rice for Deb. The setting was lovely in a secluded garden which was very intimate. We enjoyed ourselves and toasted our 25 years together! Hard to believe ??.
We walked along the Rambla Principal and enjoyed the people and the cooler evening air and then wandered back to our hotel following a lovely day together in the sun and sea and celebrating us! Goodnight!
