Into Phon Thong first thing this morning to visit the internet. Bring this blog up to date and add a few photos. Good nes on the rugby front with Gloucester winning and England qualifying for the 1/4 finals against France next weekend.
Upon my return to the village we bike out to the farm to check on the rice. The rain has been very heavy and has made small rivers running through the paddies. It all looks a little behind schedule to my untrained eye with only another 6 weeks or so till cutting and there is no sign of any grain forming yet. Still, what do I know !
We scavange some chillies, papaya, young bamboo for a curry, and generally strip 'bits' off of a few trees and that is lunch taken care of for the next few days.
Work in thegarden again this afternoon with my lazy weekend over. Manage to stand on a nail which cheered me up and then burnt a couple of toes in the fire. Just read a saying; "Some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you" - today he had a meal of me !!
In the evening we buy
a chicken from a passing freezer truck and it gets hacked into pieces, bagged and stored in the new freezer for later.
