Selfie of us enjoying the deck outside of our room.
The life boats were hanging above our deck, but there was ample room to walk without hitting your head. And, someone must have called a meeting somewhere, because there were very few people walking the deck. Usually there was a constant stream of people going by. This was the end of a great day. Day 12 – Sailing the open sea.
Sailing for Vancouver today. Weather was chilly outside, so sitting on the lounge chairs outside our stateroom was rather cold, until later in the day. We did spend a few minutes enjoying the view, and breeze.
We roamed around the ship, seeing what places we missed by going off the ship on excursions, seeing what eating places we didn’t eat at, and seeing some friends from our bus trip at various places around the ship. There are about 1,400 guests on board, 600 crew on the ship. This ship was built in October, 1999, but looks very good. They evidently keep it up in the off season. The ship's crew members, that served us, were from the Philippines, Indonesia, Italy and Germany. It was a very interesting group, and we had many enjoyable conversations.
We ate supper tonight at the Italian themed restaurant, Canaletto. It was delicious, and after supper, we went to close out our tab, and pack so that they could pick up the luggage, before 11:00PM, to have ready to offload with us at 8:00 in the morning.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, after
Sunshine on the water.
I thought this was a beautiful sight while we were cruising to Vancouver, and the sun was reflecting off the water. an early breakfast, we will be going from bus, to ship terminal, doing customs in Canada somewhere in the path, and then to the airport for our trip through TSA lines, and fly home to clear customs in Houston.
Tonight, the sun went down almost normal, after 9PM, and will come up around 4:30AM, so our night and day cycle is approaching normal levels again.
I hope you have enjoyed reading about what we have done, what we have seen, and how much we have enjoyed meeting so many people, from all parts of the world on the ship, and from all parts of the US and Canada on the land portion.
